Dentsply Sirona is one of the world's largest dental software and hardware suppliers, well-known for its cutting-edge solutions for dental cabinets. Recently, the company reported that Connect Case Center — Sirona's ecosystem launched in 2010 — will be discontinued on 15 November, and DS Core — their recently released system — will handle all its functions and add a list of new ones.
If your clinic uses Sirona's tools, prepare your hardware for an update in advance if you still haven't done it before.
Let's take a look at what they offer now.
DS Core Features
The first significant update is expanded accessibility—now you can use the system from any device—phone, tablet, etc. In addition, developers integrate a new built-in messenger for internal communication. Those factors can significantly streamline the cooperation between labs and dental cabinets.
The company significantly increased the list of readable data formats, and now DS Core supports dxd, .stl, .ply, .obj, and DCM x-ray images. Your partners and colleagues can easily check the data input interface via a web browser without installing the specialized app.
Also, Sirona improved the integrability of their system, expanding the list of possible digital tools you can use with the DS Core ecosystem, including the company's solutions, such as Primescan 2, CEREC system, and some other third-party tools.
Last but not least, the company released a new subscription feature that extends the system's capabilities. It provides an additional 1TB of cloud storage, additional integration capabilities, and improved data management features for dental labs.
If you still have a previous version of Dentsply Sirona's ecosystem, check the company's website for the guide on the update.
