And we are back again to the hot topic of water fluoridation. While the situation in the US with Robert F Kennedy's plans regarding the fluoride ban is unclear, governments and scientists in other parts of the world consider its crucial benefits for people.
Besides fluoride usage for dental health improvement, researchers also work on debunking the myths regarding this chemical, which is commonly used by "fluoride opposition."
Thus, recently Australian scientists disproved concerns about fluoride water affection on childrens cognitive capabilities, which negates previous studies in that field that we reported few mounth later.
Research data
The National Child Oral Health Study involved 357 young participants and started in 2012. Scientists from different areas, including psychologists, toxicologists, dentists, etc, researched children's cognitive capabilities, fluorosis presence in organism, and general oral health.
Recently, they followed up the study and as it turned out, no participants who consumed fluoride water had lower IQs than those who did not receive the chemical from water sources.
Moreover, people who drink fluoride water have the following: 1.07 point IQ higher on average.
What does it mean?
Now, we have a scientifically-based refutation of an "ancient" conspiracy myth about fluoride that allegedly damages human intelligence. However, it's still unclear whether this discovery changed the American situation with Robert Kennedy's plans regarding fluoride cancelation, considering that he had quite enough other conspiracy theories to maintain his destructive ideas.
