Greetings, I am Nataliia Romanova, CEO of Remedico.app, and I am excited to share my experiences from the noteworthy event I attended this week.
This July, Dental Bern 2024 – the largest Switzerland dental fair – hosted about 175 exhibitors and 6000 visitors from the dental industry under one hall – a three-day-long exhibition that includes 14 workout sessions and dozens of fascinating solutions for dental medicine and management. Also, there were presented leviathans of industry, such as Straumann, Miele, PLANMECA, Colgate, and Curaden, with probably the largest stands at the event.
I visited Dental Bern to see how the heart of European dentistry beats and check the current situation with dental software on the market – the area where Remedico provides services. Let's take a look at the most interesting cases.
Digitalization of bureaucracy
It’s well known that, in Germany and Switzerland, medicine is burdened with a high amount of paperwork – you literally should describe every step of the appointment and every part of common procedures. On the one hand, such a scrupulous approach guarantees the best quality of medical services, and on the other – bureaucracy wastes a lot of doctors' time, cutting the amount of possible daily appointments.
Medmonitor.swiss company – a local provider of clinic software, presented on Dental Bern 2024 – is trying to solve the paperwork issue by implementing the task-management software that automatically fills the documents, reminds you about all the routine stuff you have to do, and keep these data in a secured place. Also, Medmonitor creates reports for earnings and all cleaning activities in the hospital, allowing the manager to keep an eye on all processes.
Such a tool – is a good example of solutions made for specific problems in a particular region. Medmonitor provides a cross-platform app, making it easy to implement in clinics of any size and specification.
Dental unification
One of the presented companies had an exciting presentation, combined with novel technological services. Electro Medical System – a provider of high-quality dental hardware, established and headquartered in Switzerland – showed up with their pioneered GBT (Guided Biolimf Therapy) approach. This complex system – is a combination of minimally invasive instruments for risk assessment, disease prevention, and optimization of dental procedures. This company (like many others) is shifting from a focus on treatment to preventative medicine and prophylactic approaches. For me, it is always a pleasure to see how the industry becomes more effective in human health protection, by targeting the cause of the disease instead of managing the symptoms.
Fully-equipped GBT solution – is a de facto small dental cabinet “armored” with a set of tools for systematic dental procedures – the so-called GBT Lounge. One such dental chair was presented at the event, and participants can experience a fast and smooth teeth cleaning procedure and basic diagnostic. This live-stand is the best way to engage new customers and investors - allow them to try your services just “on their skin.”
GBT is already spread among the Middle East clinics – the natural “habitat” of Remedico company – and shows promising results, attracting new customers by optimizing dentists' workflow and providing them with novel minimally invasive tools.
The interesting feature of the technology is a visual demonstration of teeth condition by “highlighting” the dental plaque. This approach allows you to educate patients and gain their trust by explaining why and how exactly you should make the particular procedure. By the way, Remedico’s Dentaverse experience aims for the same humans’ natural need to know “what’s going on with my body?”. Transparency of the medicine is as essential as its effectiveness.
AI and Advanced Medical Management Software
As the CEO of Remedico, I can’t pass through these tools, considering that our software specializes in such elements. The first tool – DentBot – is an AI tool, integrated into the website, that helps patients schedule visits, search for appropriate specialists, etc. It has quite a useful functionality – modern AI technology recognizes human speech well enough to conduct a simple conversion and helps humans with simple questions. In Remedico we are now working on the development of an AI tool – RemedicoGPT, based on a similar technology, however much more advanced and specialized for different administrative tasks.
Also, I visited the stand of Denteo company, which specializes in clinic management software – and they know something about how to promote your products properly: well-designed stand, exciting visual presentation, and drinks with Denteo Label, and the software also looks very nice and interesting! I’m glad I have an opportunity to see such representatives of our industry because they gradually push it forward and show us how to solve local market problems and adapt to their specific features.
